Trump orders reopening of Churches, says US need prayers

US President Donald Trump wants churches in the country to open up to continue serving the Lord.

He said the United States needed a lot of prayer at this time, while he as well blasts the governors for leaving liquor stores open in their states.

President Trump’s call comes at a time when the US Centers for Disease Control has issued guidelines on how churches can be reopened in the country.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha has cautioned the state governors who recently ease lockdown in their states.

Mr Mustapha, speaking on behalf of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on Thursday in Abuja, said that easing the lockdown order would make it more likely that people would become infected with the COVID-19 virus.

States such as Bauchi, Kano, Adamawa, Cross River, Borno, and Ebonyi are among the ones who have allowed the Friday and Eidul-Fitr prayers in their states.

Nigeria has continue to struggle with an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, with Lagos having the highest toll among the 36 States.

In recent times, Buhari has announced the ban on all social gatherings, including religious gatherings to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

However, the states have taken steps to allow Friday and Eidul-Fitr prayers to be held.
